Brittney Eileen Beauty: A Case Study

Brittney is an incredibly talented makeup artist that focuses on bridal, boudoir, and editorial makeup looks. Our first introduction was on an editorial shoot where we worked together and our relationship just blossomed from there! I was so honored and excited to help her create an incredible brand image, first through personal brand photos in 2019, and then through a complete rebrand in 2020! We see each other a few times a year now to update her photography content as her brand evolves!

Brand Concept

With the expansion of her brand in 2020, Brittney had the goal of presenting as a more professional brand in the bridal space. Her old logo was a bit cookie cutter, in a watercolor text, and no longer fit her visual needs.. Adding on members to her team, upleveling her talents through new certifications and offerings, and becoming fully booked with weddings meant she needed a brand that was as serious about her business’ growth as she was! We focused on a neutral yet bold color palette, highlighting with a blush pink accent and grounding it with a deep forest green.

Here's What Brittney Had to Say:

I’ve worked with Kayla for a few years now and all I can say is good things. From collabing as a photographer and artist on shoots, to Kayla taking my first branding photos for my website, to just recently when she helped me with my rebrand. My most recent experience with working with her has left me so over the top impressed and grateful. She helped me create a new logo and branding board for my website and she captured my vision better than I could have ever expected. She was professional from beginning to end. She asked all the right questions. She worked quickly and efficiently to create the most beautiful new branding board. I now have a logo I’m so proud to show off, and I do – I plaster it everywhere! I’m so impressed by this talented professional and would recommend her a million times.

Visual Brand Identity

Being the face of the brand, it was important to highlight Brittney’s name in a way that was classy and light, but also demanded attention. We went with a thin line, handwritten font for her name, paired with a classic capitalized text. This font pairing works beautifully together, excluding class, beauty, sophistication, and professionalism. We created a fun circular version of the logo to bring a bit of flare to the brand identity, as well as to fit into standard social media layouts. The submark was one of the most important features, as it would be used on photos of Brittney’s work to ensure proper ownership and brand recognition!

Brand Collateral

After finishing her brand identity, we dove into customized social media designs with the goal of educating her bridal clients on her process, as well as sharing other information with them to create awareness around her offerings. These designs highlighted key points as well as displayed images of Brittney’s work! Next, we shifted focus to photo collateral. We see each other a few times throughout the year updating content with different goals each time! Following Brittney on her branded journey has been amazing and I cannot wait to see what she does next.
